Leaves grow on the tips of trees,

slowly but surely summer begins.

We watch the rebirth, not paying attention,

then June comes with surprised expressions.

It’s summer already but we missed spring,

our minds disconnected- it’s never ending.

We forgot what blossoms from soaked dirt;

forgot the showers, puddles, smell of earth.

Now we exist with sun kissed skin.

It’s summer, now fall begins.

It’s amazing how one day it’s winter, then we look outside and we see trees full of leaves. We live our lives disconnected from the present- lost in our little bubbles. We’ve lost sight of the beauty in being connected.
